The Polished Emerald Project is a youth mentoring program that reaches deep into the Toledo community to provide young ladies with leadership, self-esteem and a vision for the future.  The program was designed by Toledo PAL Officer Kim Darrington who had a concept and vision to give back to a neighborhood community from where she grew up so that her story can be told to youth who struggle with everyday issues in life.  With the help of local and successful African-American small business leaders and professionals, many of these young ladies now have hope for
**success**.
