ABOUT US

In partnership with the Toledo Police Department, City of Parks, Recreation and Forestry and community volunteers, Toledo PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic, and leadership development programs.

We strive to achieve four important goals for our kids:

  • Young people with high character
  • Young people who lead active and healthy lifestyles
  • Young people who give back in their community
  • Young people with positive relationships with police officers

F.A.Q.

Here are a few of our frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t answered here, please feel free to contact us and we’ll respond to you as soon as possible.

Q: What Is the Mission of Toledo PAL?
A: Toledo PAL is a non-profit, delinquency prevention program that relies heavily on athletics. This positive influence can counter the gang influence, and potential violence that can occur in the under-serviced areas of our community. The Toledo Police Department's PAL program promotes mutual respect between the police and Toledo's youth through various athletic and recreational activities.

Q: How Can I Help Toledo PAL’s Mission?
A: There are several ways you can help us further the mission of Toledo PAL.

  • Volunteer Your Time: Toledo PAL is always looking for volunteers to help in our sports leagues.
  • Make a Donation: Monetary donations help us continue our programs and reach more children and families in the Toledo-Lucas county communities. All donations are tax-deductible. You can donate online or mail a donation to our office: Toledo PAL, 525 N. Erie St., Toledo, OH 43604.
  • Become a Sponsor: Our corporate and individual sponsors are integral to the success of Toledo PAL.

Q: Is Toledo PAL a City Department?
A: No. Toledo PAL is a private non-profit organization and does not receive any direct funding from the city. We do, however, benefit from a wonderful relationship with the
TOLEDO POLICE DEPARTMENT.  Toledo PAL has two dedicated full time officers working to assist in program administration. This partnership allows the police department to build a better relationship with the community and, in turn, work to reduce crime by providing kids with valuable after-school activities.

Q: How Is Toledo PAL Funded?
A: Toledo PAL operates on an annual budget of approximately $100.000 that comes from a variety of sources. About 50 percent of our revenue comes from local and state foundations. Approximately 20 percent of our funding comes from corporate sponsorship's.  Another 10 percent comes from special events, while the remaining 20 percent comes from private individual donations.
